Eviction Ban Extended

With the extension of the eviction ban and notice periods being extended from two months to six months, it is now more important than ever for Landlords to ensure that they are getting expert advice on managing their properties.

As reported in The Negotiator August 2020 edition, an announcement has been made by the The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government confirming that it is to extend the ban on evictions to 20th September and also introduce six-month long notice periods that will run until 31st March 2021.

This announcement comes at a challenging time for both renters and landlords alike. By increasing this period and extending notice periods renters will be protected over the coming winter months which of course is positive news. However, many landlords rely on the income from their properties to survive, so they too must be protected! It is always advised that Landlords protect themselves from incurring a build up of rental arrears.
